The holiday season is fast approaching us, and with it just around the corner that means big box office movies hitting the screen. This holiday movie season has not one, not two, but three mega blockbusters movies coming out. If you don't want to hang out with family during the holiday evenings you have some great movie choices.

There are three movies that will rack up millions and millions of dollars this holiday season, and the first weekend of November starts that rush. Offshore sports book MyBookie has posted Worldwide Opening Weekend Gross Figures for those three biggest holiday season movies, and those movies are "Thor: Ragnarok", "Justice League", and of course "Star Wars: The Last Jedi". This new Thor movie will be the third installment of the Thor movie franchise, and this one should produce big ticket sales. The first Thor movie (2011) grossed only a little over $71 million dollars worldwide opening weekend, but that movie opened in May. The second Thor movie (Thor: The Dark World - 2013) gross opening weekend was a little above $195 million worldwide. So will this new installment make over $255 million? It's going to be close, and if you throw in the fact that the Incredible Hulk is also in this new Thor movie this number could either go over or under. I'm leaning towards the under as raking in over $255 million for a Thor movie could be a stretch, even with the Hulk as his co-star.

If Batman v Superman can gross $166 million in the US opening weekend in 2016 then I don't see the Justice League having any problem racking up over $245 million worldwide. Wonder Woman made huge box office money over the summer, and that success will carry over in November when the Justice League opens. Just the secrecy of Superman in this movie should cause enough stir to make people run out opening weekend to see this DC Comics mega superhero movie. Take the over in this movie prop as Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman and hopefully Superman will give us more than $245 million weekend sales.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Opening Weekend (Opens Wednesday December 13, 2017 midnight)

December will be another huge month for the Star Wars movie franchise, and The Last Jedi should have huge opening weekend numbers. The trailer alone pretty much stopped the social media world, and the Last Jedi will break some blockbuster records. Star Wars: The Force Awakens grossed around $530 million worldwide for the first weekend, and I do see the Last Jedi outdoing The Force Awakens.
