Last Thursday the 2016-17 PGA Tour Safeway Open in Napa, California, started and was missing one major name to the tournament, Tiger Woods. Woods highly-anticipated return to the PGA Tour was put on hold after he withdrew from the Safeway Open, citing concerns about the state of his game. His concerns about the state of his game don't have any effect upon the state of golf gambling because another man's concerns can be a profitable gain for someone else.

The Safeway Open was supposed to be Woods' first start in a PGA Tour event since the 2015 Wyndham Championship 14 months ago. I believe Woods could have played this weekend, but as we all know golf is usually an all-mental game and maybe Woods is physically healthy but not mentally healthy. With age, multiple back surgeries and a fractured ego cracked open by his own private excesses gone public, he is probably second-guessing everything he does on the course.
