I guess when the Mouse says don't tell anybody, you listen to that Mouse because boy did the entertainment world get a shock last week. After four years sitting beside Kelly Ripa, former New York Giants football star Michael Strahan has decided to part ways from "Live! with Kelly and Michael". Strahan chose to jump over to a bigger role with "Good Morning America", and what I'm hearing that Mouse gave him a big chunk of cheese but demanded his silence in breaking the news, thus creating a nationwide controversy and plenty of press for both shows.

Multiple reports have indicated that Ripa is upset with ABC (Disney owned) because she was blindsided by the news of Strahan leaving "Live!" for "Good Morning America." That is twice that Ripa was blindsided, because Regis Philbin did the same thing to her over four years ago when he retired from "Live". It's no secret that the audience will miss Strahan because when he was chosen to replace Philbin he automatically boosted the ratings. In fact, the show averaged more than 250,000 more daily viewers once Strahan joined the program. That was probably a big reason for "Good Morning America" to move Strahan up the ladder.

Since I'm a former Las Vegas oddsmaker and still do odds for a living I thought I would be the first to throw out odds on who will replace Strahan on "Live". I have added the public favorites and some dark horses and of course some very big long shots. You never know who could be the winner, and since I started doing this research I did find out that Strahan was not even close to being one of the favorites when he was chosen four years ago.

One rumor that I have been hearing this time around, which was not a rumor when Regis Philbin retired is maybe a female could be the co-host next to Ripa. Names like Kelly Osbourne, Rachel Zoe, Jane Lynch and others have been thrown out there, so of course my oddsmaking buzz decided to do another betting prop.
