2016 Season Win Total Picks NCAA Football: 'Over'

If Florida State can win 10 games in a rebuilding season then what can they do with a group stacked with 17 returning starters and future NFL talent up and down the roster?

FSU is reloaded and ready to roll after winning the NCAA championship in 2013, making the playoffs in 2014 and then settling for the Peach Bowl last year. The talent is there. The coaching staff is stable. And everyone in this program is focused on getting back to the mountaintop.

There is one fly in the ointment. The Seminoles offense needs a quarterback to emerge. Senior Sean Maguire has been biding his time and is ready to take over. But he lacks the running ability of freshman Deondre Francois, who redshirted last year. That battle is the most important storyline facing this team heading into fall camp.

Whoever is the quarterback will be handing off a lot to All-American Dalvin Cook. He's running behind five returning offensive line starters and has a stacked receiving corps to keep opposing defenses honest. These guys are loaded, and this offense is going to be ridiculously tough to stop.

Florida State does have a challenging schedule. And if they make it back to the playoffs then it will certainly be because they earned it. They open against Mississippi in Orlando. They also have to play in-state rivals South Florida and Miami on the road. In the league schedule they do get the crucial Clemson game at home. But they also have a tricky road game against Louisville early in the season.

Despite some obstacles, I can't see Florida State losing more than two games. And, frankly, I'll be surprised if they lose twice. They may not be great at the window in individual games. But in terms of their season win total I would pull the trigger on the 'over' and look for the Seminoles to close the regular season 11-1. (At worst I think you'd take a 'push').
