Here is, without a doubt, a 100 percent guaranteed prediction for this upcoming college football season: Central Florida is going to have a much better season in 2016 than they did in 2015.

That prediction is without question a certainty mainly because things can't possibly go much worse than last year for the Golden Knights. Central Florida, which just two years ago was beating Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl to wrap up a 12-1 season, went 0-12 last year. Their coach quit in the middle of the season, injuries ravaged the rebuilding team, and they were embarrassed down the stretch while losing their final five by a combined 244-57 score.

George O'Leary is out after 12 mostly successful seasons in Orlando. Scott Frost, formerly of Oregon, is looking to bring the Ducks' up-tempo attack to Florida and help scrape this Knights team up off the deck.

Frost is going to have plenty to work with this season at UCF. They have 17 returning starters, including a three-year starter at quarterback in Justin Holman. Despite this massive number of returning starters, this is still a pretty young team (just eight senior starters), so there is still a lot of room to grow. Every statistical indicator is pointing toward a major bounce back season for a program that went 31-9 in the three years prior to their winless debacle last season.

The Knights aren't going to compete for the AAC title in Frost's first season. He is instituting massive changes on both sides of the ball, and it will take some time. But I expect UCF to piece together four wins by mid-October, meaning that they will be flirting with bowl eligibility this fall.
