2015 WWE WrestleMania Odds and Expert Betting Predictions
by Raphael Esparza - 3/25/2015
WWE PPV WrestleMania is live this Sunday from the Levi’s Center in Santa Clara, Calif., and WrestleMania is the Super Bowl of wrestling entertainment. We should see some great matches this Sunday, and I’m hoping we see another mind-blowing upset like last year when Brock Lesnar beat Undertaker.
Our friends over at Paddy Power were the first to post odds for this big WWE WrestleMania PPV event, and boy does this card have some easy predictable winners. However, there are a couple of matches that have great betting value. For Royal Rumble I hit three out of five matches, was 7-1 in the TLC PPV, and I swept the board, going a perfect 4-0, in the Survivor Series PPV. So for WrestleMania I’m looking for another winning PPV.
Here are the odds and my betting predictions – Odds Provided by Paddy Power
AJ Lee & Paige -350
The Bella Twins +220
Prediction: I was really upset when this number was posted because I was hoping AJ Lee and Paige would be around -200 favorite. I see the feud between the Bella Twins and Lee and Paige is carrying over WrestleMania, so that means the Bella Twins will lose this match. Grab the favorite here because I see this number climbing all weekend long, and I predict AJ Lee pinning Nikki Bella. What happened to the feud between the Bella Twins? I really thought Nikki would win the Divas title over her sister at WrestleMania.
Tag Team Championship
Tyson Kidd and Cesaro -160
The Usos +260
Big E and Kofi Kingston 7-1
Los Matadores 5-1
Prediction: The Usos are not 100 percent, and getting Kidd/Cesaro at -160 I believe is a steal. This match is probably the worst match on the card, and again I see Kidd/Cesaro easily retaining their belts. Trust me; grab this cheap price because the champs will cash this ticket.
Intercontinental Champion
Daniel Bryan -120
Dean Ambrose +160
DolphZiggler +750
Bad News Barrett +650
Stardust 11-1
Luke Harper 22-1
R-Truth 22-1
Prediction: The Intercontinental Title Ladder Match is going to be fun to watch -- try not to blink in this match because this will be full of action. It’s no secret that crowd will be cheering and waiting for Daniel Bryan to win this match, and he should be the favorite. But hold on! I’m throwing out Bryan in this match and picking Dean Ambrose at +160 as the Intercontinental Champion. The powers that be in the back are really high on Dean Ambrose, and I still think Daniel Bryan will be in the hunt for the heavyweight title once WrestleMania is over, so that is why I believe he doesn’t win Sunday night. So, again, my prediction for the Intercontinental Champion will be Ambrose, and we should see a long feud between Ambrose and Bad News Barrett.
Seth Rollins -135
Randy Orton +100
Prediction: The prediction for this match has meaning towards the end of the show, so be careful. Is it me, or is Randy Orton boring in the ring until he RKOs his opponent? Seth Rollins should be the favorite in this match, but since Rollins still has the Money in the Bank briefcase I believe the powers that be will make him use it either Sunday night or Monday night at RAW. Either/or since he will be using his Money in the Bank I see Rollins getting beat down, and Orton gives Rollins not ONE not TWO, but THREE RKOs in this match. Funny how Rollins will lose this match but could become the heavyweight champ winner Sunday or Monday night.
Sting -600
Triple H +350
Prediction: Yes, betting Sting at -600 is steep, but why would WWE bring Sting to the company and make him lose his first match in the WWE. That is not good for business! Even if Sting only wrestles this one match in the WWE, I don’t see him losing, and Sunday night in the center of the ring I see Sting putting the Scorpion Deathlock on Triple H and Sting wins his first and maybe his only WWE match. I hope not because the possibilities WWE can have with Sting as an active part-time wrestler will be fun to watch.
The Undertaker -225
Bray Wyatt +160
Prediction: It’s no secret that Triple H loves the character of Bray Wyatt, and Vince McMahon has been behind the Undertaker for decades. Yes, Bray Wyatt ‘Should’ win this match, but I see McMahon playing the Owner Card and letting The Undertaker win one more WrestleMania match. Please let this be Undertaker’s last match! Jump on the Undertaker -225 now because this will close around -400 or higher Sunday afternoon.
John Cena -350
Rusev +225
Prediction: I would be shocked if John Cena loses at WrestleMania Sunday night. Rusev beat Cena at the Fastlane PPV, and Monday night on RAW Rusev kicked Cena’s butt for about a half hour. The only way I would think the powers that be would let Rusev win if they were going to make a major push for Rusev for the heavyweight title. This number will jump after the Monday night beat down, and it wouldn’t shock me to see Cena close around -600.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Roman Reigns -250 (now -120)
Brock Lesnar +175 (now -120)
Tuesday night Brock Lesnar announced that he signed a new contract with the WWE, so my prediction could be different today than yesterday. Not really! I originally thought that Roman Reigns would win this match then Seth Rollins uses his Money in the Bank contract to pin Reigns for the title. Now I’m changing up my prediction and having Paul Heyman screwing Lesnar and Reigns winning the title becoming a Heyman guy. Monday night Lesnar kicks the crap out of Reigns then Seth Rollins uses his Money in the Bank contract and pins Reigns on Monday Night RAW. WWE needs something to top last year’s stunning result with Undertaker losing to Lesnar.
