2015 Season Win Total Picks NCAA Football: 'Push'
The Badgers are on to their third coach in four years - not counting Barry Alvarez's cameo in the bowl game - with Paul Chryst now taking over after Gary Andersen's surprising departure. Wisconsin is learning new systems on both sides of the ball and trying to replace All-American back Melvin Gordon. But they should again be a factor in the Big Ten.
Wisconsin will once again try to pummel the opposition with its mammoth offensive line and power running game. Gordon is gone, but his backups managed nearly 1,600 and 15 touchdowns. Joel Stave, who is a train wreck, will be starting at quarterback again this year. So don't expect much improvement on Wisconsin's ridiculous No. 116-ranked passing attack.
The Badgers open the season with a monster game against Alabama in Dallas. But after that they have four straight home games (and five of their next six in Madison). The only real test in that group is a game at Nebraska. The rest of the schedule is absurdly easy, and their only real test is a game at Minnesota to close the year.
This is a tough number because I think that Wisconsin is going to win exactly 10 games. I think they'll lose to Alabama and then I think they will get upset either at Nebraska or Minnesota. If you can find 9.5 at a sportsbook I would play the 'over'. But against this number I will call for a 'push' and a 10-2 regular-season mark.
