Western Michigan obliterated its season win total last year! The number was just 2.5, and the Broncos won eight games. They were one of the biggest surprise teams in the country. They were also one of the most profitable teams. They went 10-3 against the spread.
Western Michigan has three of the best players in the MAC on their offense. Quarterback Zach Terrell completed almost 70 percent of his passes and had 29 total touchdowns. Running back Jarvion Franklin carried the ball 306 times for 1,595 yards and 24 touchdowns. He is one of the best backs at a mid-major school. Top receiver Corey Davis caught 78 balls for 1,408 yards and 15 touchdowns.
WMU's defense was one of the best in the league last year. They allowed only two teams in the league to score over 21 points. That was impressive. They have seven starters back to fit in their 4-3 set.
Western Michigan isn't going to sneak up on anyone this year. Not after they almost made the MAC title game last year. The Broncos have to play their biggest game at Toledo on Nov. 27 in a game that could decide the West. But they have a bye before that game. That will be key.
I would play WMU to go 'over' their season win total. They were a big surprise last year. They could be even better this year.
