2015 Season Win Total Picks NCAA Football: 'Under'
Look, I am going to keep this one short and sweet. UNLV is one of the worst teams in the country. They have been for the past decade (winning just two games seven times in 10 years), and this could be their worst team yet.
The Rebels have just 10 starters back from a team that was outscored by 16.6 points per game last season. They also have a rookie head coach that they plucked from the high school ranks. So absolutely everything about this season says "rebuilding year".
UNLV's opening gauntlet is rough, and you can pretty much guarantee an 0-3 start. Idaho State should be the only team they are favored against. But the Rebels lost to FCS teams in 2011 and 2012 and only beat Northern Colorado (as a 28-point favorite) by one point last season. So that ISU game isn't in the bag.
Even if the Rebels do beat Idaho State, they aren't going to win two more games. There's just no way. San Jose State and Hawaii are the two other most winnable games on the dance card. But there is no way they sweep that set.
I was dead-on with my 'under' call last year, and I think the Rebels will post another two-win this season to stay 'under'.
