The 2015 NFL season is officially less than one month away. Week 1 should not disappoint, with a number of intriguing showdowns on the schedule-including a battle between the two most recent
Heisman Trophy winners in Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota. Should Mariota's Tennessee Titans lose, will the seat of head coach Ken Whisenhunt become even
hotter?

NFL Week 1
Cleveland Browns (+3) at New York Jets
- The Jets went 4-12 last year, and new head coach Todd Bowles' first offseason has not been going smoothly. A rough start could be in store for New York.
Indianapolis Colts (-2.5) at Buffalo Bills
- Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts are a trendy pick to win the AFC-and maybe even the Super Bowl. They have an interesting opener on their hands
against the new-look Buffalo Bills, who are now coached by Rex Ryan. Keep Luck away from IK Enemkpali!
Tennessee Titans (+3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
-These franchises may have been moribund at best in recent seasons, but this showdown will captivate more than a few fans because of the Mariota vs.
Winston aspect. The Bucs went 2-14 last year and did not win a single game at home.
Minnesota Vikings (-1) at San Francisco 49ers
-You know times have changed when the freaking San Francisco 49ers begin a season as home underdogs to the Minnesota Vikings of all teams. The Jim Harbaugh
era is over, and little-known head coach Jim Tomsula is in. The roster has undergone an overhaul, too.
First NFL Head Coach Fired
Jay Gruden, Washington Redskins (+275)
-Gruden has been at the helm for just one season in Washington, but the leash is already short after the 'Skins stumbled to a 4-12 record. They did not add
much to their roster, and Robert Griffin III seems to be delusional about how good he is at football.
Ken Whisenhunt, Tennessee Titans (+600) -Whisenhunt is also entering his second year with his current team. The Titans were a horrendous 2-14 in 2014, which is why they were able to draft Mariota. Whisenhunt also compiled a losing record in each of his last three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.
Gus Bradley, Jacksonville Jaguars (+700)
- Bradley is entering Year 3 in Jacksonville, which could be a reason to like his chances of getting a pink slip more than those of Gruden or Whisenhunt.
The Jaguars went 4-12 in 2013 and 3-13 last season, and they have already lost first-round pick Dante Fowler, Jr. for the season.
Mike Pettine, Cleveland Browns (+750)
-Pettine's resume is less terrible than the three aforementioned coaches. In his only season with the Browns, the team compiled a decent-but-not-horrible
7-9 record. But if he cannot find a solution to this quarterback quandary, he could be gone sooner rather than later.
U.S. Open (women)
Serena Williams (Even)
- Serena is one U.S. Open title away from the calendar-year Grand Slam. That's right; she has already triumphed this season at the Australian Open, French
Open, and Wimbledon. The dominant world No. 1 is the three-time defending champion in New York and has won the thing six times overall.
Victoria Azarenka (+600) -Is there anyone who can stop Serena from capping off the most amazing year in women's tennis since Steffi Graf in 1988? Azarenka is an awful 3-17 in the head-to-head series, but she has taken four of her last five meetings against Serena to three sets (including this year at the French and Wimbledon).
Maria Sharapova (+800) -If Sharapova is to win the U.S. Open, she will probably need someone else to upset Serena earlier in the tournament. After all, the Russian has lost 17 in a row in that head-to-head series and is 0-14 in their last 14 sets. Sharapova is playing for the first time since Wimbledon this week in Cincinnati.
Simona Halep (+1200)
-Halep has cooled off big time since winning Indian Wells and reaching the Miami semifinals in March. Her best tournament in a while came last week in
Toronto, but the Romanian had to retire in the final due to injury. Halep has fallen to No. 3 in the world so she could be on the same side of the draw as
Serena.
2016 Masters
(odds provided by Bovada Sportsbook)
Jordan Spieth (+650) -Spieth rolled to a record-tying victory at this year's Masters, and it has been full steam ahead ever since for the 22-year-old. How close did Spieth come to winning the calendar-year Grand Slam? He missed a British Open playoff by one stroke and finished second at the PGA Championship.
Rory McIlroy (+650) -Surprisingly, McIlory went all of 2015 without capturing a major. Part of that did not have to do with golf as he missed the Open Championship due to an injury sustained while playing soccer. The Masters is the lone slam that has eluded McIlory, who placed 17th last week at Whistling Straits.
Jason Day (+1200) -It was only a matter of time for Day, who had nine Top-10 finishes in majors heading into the PGA Championship. Will the floodgates open now that the Australian finally has a major under his belt? Day has finished in the Top 3 at the Masters twice already, so there are tons of reasons to like his chances.
Tiger Woods (+1600) -If there is one place that can get Tiger back on track, it's Augusta National. Although he has not triumphed there since 2005, he is a four-time champion.Two-time champion Bubba Watson is also +1600, while Dustin Johnson-still without a major title-is the sixth choice at +1800.
