The Patriots had been considerable favorites to be the last undefeated team in the NFL, but that distinction now goes to the Panthers. They are 11-0 and appear to have an easy one on their plate this week against New Orleans. Speaking of the NFC South, Jameis Winston is getting better and better as his rookie season progresses, and he has the inside track on NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Carolina Panthers
16-0 regular season (+300)
- Eleven down; five to go. And none of the five looks especially difficult. The Panthers still have the Atlanta Falcons twice, but Atlanta is in a massive
slump (four losses in a row). A date at the New York Giants could be Carolina's toughest remaining test. Also, will the team rest its starters after it
locks up home-field advantage?
NFC Championship (+150)
- The Panthers are basically guaranteed a bye in round one of the NFC playoffs. After all, the third-place team in the conference (Minnesota) is three
games behind at 8-3. Only the 9-2 Cardinals have a remote chance of taking home-field advantage away from Carolina, and that is unlikely at best.
Super Bowl (+500)
- New England is still favored to win the Super Bowl, and the high-powered AFC also has the Broncos and Bengals in the very realistic mix. Like the
Patriots, though, the Panthers are a well-rounded team with no real weaknesses despite dealing with all kinds of injury problems. Could have a rematch of
the thrilling Super Bowl XXXVIII?
at New Orleans (-7)
- The Saints actually made things respectable in Week 3, losing at Carolina 27-22. But that was then; this is now. The Panthers have since beaten the likes
of Seattle and Green Bay and they have won their last three games by a combined score of 104-40. New Orleans is coming off consecutive blowout losses to
Washington and Houston.
NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year
(MyBookie.ag)
Jameis Winston (-110)
- The No. 1 overall pick got blown out by the Titans and fellow rookie Marcus Mariota in Week 1, but since then it's been all Winston in the proverbial
head-to-head rivalry. Winston has thrown 16 touchdown passes, including five with no interceptions in a Week 11 win over the Eagles. Tampa Bay is a
respectable 5-6 after starting the season 1-3.
Todd Gurley (+180) - After missing the first two weeks of the year and playing sparingly in the Rams' third game, Gurley caught fire. He turned in four consecutive games of at least 128 yards. He also went on a streak of five straight outings with at least one touchdown. For the season, Gurley has 794 yards and six TDs on 164 carries.
Amari Cooper (+300)
- This award appears to be a three-horse race between Winston, Gurley, and Cooper. The Raiders are on the way up with Derek Carr at
quarterback and Cooper at receiver. Cooper has 58 receptions for 851 yards and four touchdowns after going for 115 yards on seven catches in last
week's win over Tennessee.
Thomas Rawls (+1000)
- Thanks to Marshawn Lynch's injury problems, Rawls is in the discussion-albeit distant-for this honor. Seattle's backup running back, who was an undrafted
free agent out of Central Michigan, boasts surprising stats of 685 yards and three scores on 122 attempts. He has 290 yards and two touchdowns in the
Seahawks' last two games.
Heisman Trophy
Derrick Henry (-500)
- A different SEC running back (LSU's Leonard Fournette) was once in control of the Heisman race, but now the stiff-armed statue is Henry's to lose. Only a
disastrous outing against a team that really has no business playing for a conference title (Florida) can derail Henry's campaign.
DeShaun Watson (+400)
- It is almost impossible for anyone to contend with the numbers being put up by Henry. Alabama's star running back has rushed 295 times for 1,797 yards
and 22 touchdowns. But Watson is doing his best to keep pace. The quarterback of No. 1 Clemson has accounted for 36 scores to go along with 3,223 passing yards.
Christian McCaffrey (+800)
- Stanford's sophomore running back surged into contention by going nine consecutive games with more than 100 yards, including two of more than 200.
Although the Cardinal beat Notre Dame last weekend, McCaffrey's stock may have taken a hit with 94 yards on 27 attempts (3.5 average).
Ezekiel Elliott (+800)
- Elliott (1,672 yards, 19 TDs) could not have helped himself by blasting the coaches' play-calling in Ohio State's recent loss to Michigan State. He made
up for it by torching Michigan for 214 yards and two scores, but a 33-yard performance against the Spartans probably cannot be overcome.
English Premier League
Manchester City (-110) - Through 14 matches, Man City is tied atop the EPL table with Leicester City (of all teams). The Sky Blues have 29 points at 9-3-2, while Leicester City is 8-5-1. They remained in first place by taking care of Southampton 3-1 last Saturday to end a two-match winless streak.
Arsenal (+250)
- The Gunners are hanging around in fourth place at 27 points, but they have been in mostly disastrous form across all leagues of late. In their last three
EPL matches they have two draws and a 2-1 loss to West Brom on Nov. 21. Arsenal has a laundry list of injuries that is actually hard to believe.
Manchester United (+500)
- United sits in third place behind Manchester City and Leicester City. Once out in front on the table, Man U has endured recent draws with Leicester and
Crystal Palace. The club has not captured a Premier League title since 2012-13, when it won the league by 11 points.
Liverpool (+1400)
- Liverpool is in sixth place and six points south of the top teams, but don't sleep on the Reds. They finished second in the league as recently as two
seasons ago, just two points behind champion Man City. Liverpool just clobbered City 4-1 on Nov. 21 and won its second in a row over Swansea on Sunday.
