2015 New York Jets Predictions: Season Win Totals Odds and Picks

2015 Las Vegas Season Win Total: 6.5

Armed with a Top 10 defense, a powerful running game, and some improved skill position players, one team in the AFC East seemed poised to claim the role of sleeper in the division race. No, it wasn't the Buffalo Bills. The Jets, a team that has actually made the playoffs this century, looked like they might have some gambling value this year.

The Jets were a team that no one was focusing on after last year's 4-12 debacle. This same team went 8-8 just one year prior, and the Jets have been at .500 or better in five of the past seven years. They added more than they lost in the offseason, and there was a sense of renewal with a hiring of a new coach. So things looked promising.

And then the Jets actually took the field. And then, like it always seems to, reality caught up with this bunch of clowns.

New York's quarterback got knocked out, literally, for at least the first month of the season. The coaching staff doesn't look like it has any idea what it is doing. And the rest of the teams in the East look like they are ready to lap the Jersey Jets.

New York has an aging, but capable team. Twelve of their top 30 or so contributors have at least eight years of experience, and their opening day roster looks like it will be one of the two or three oldest in the league. A team like that is dangerous. Are they just playing for a paycheck and happy with what they've all accomplished in their careers? Are these vets going to take to a rookie coach, rookie defensive coordinator, and a failed offensive coordinator?

The Jets will jump up and bite some teams this season. But beyond an upset or two I don't see them being much of a factor. I do think this season win total number is low. But I also don't trust them enough to play it 'over'. I would take the 'under' on this one.
