2015 Season Win Total Picks NCAA Football: 'Under'
With just five wins in four seasons, the Vandals have been wallowing in putrid obscurity out in Moscow. Paul Petrino is in his third season and is trying to lay the foundation for something better. Their season win total suggests that this team is vastly improved. But this program is a long way from being a factor in the Sun Belt.
Idaho does have some positive indicators that are pointing them in the right direction. They have 15 starters back overall and have really bulked up along the offensive and defensive lines. Last year's freshman starter at quarterback, Matt Linehan, should also be better after a turnover-plagued rookie season. But they lost their top four receivers, three of their top four rushers, and five of their top 10 tacklers.
Idaho does start the year with three of its four games at home. They do start league play with two of the better teams, Georgia Southern and Arkansas State. And they have a bye week before a winnable road game at Troy.
Unfortunately, they do play most of the bottom teams in the league on the road. And nonconference road games at USC and Auburn don't help the cause. I think that they will get to three wins this season, but I don't see them hitting four. I'll lean on the 'under' but wouldn't be stunned if Idaho managed to surpass their low expectations.
