2015 Season Win Total Picks NCAA Football: 'Under'

Paul Johnson's group busted out for 11 wins and a blowout Orange Bowl win last year as one of the biggest surprises in college football. In fact, Tech was just two touchdowns away from an undefeated season, losing each of their three games by six points or less. They did benefit from a +11 turnover margin, one of the tops in the country, but if the defense improves they could be a major factor in the ACC again.

Now the Jackets have 13 starters back and one of the most experienced rosters in the ACC. Quarterback Justin Thomas is one of the best Johnson has had in Atlanta. And Tech's secondary could be one of the best in the league with four senior starters.

But Tech definitely has a more difficult schedule this season. After two gimme games to start the year they have a rough four-game stretch where they play at Notre Dame, at Duke, face UNC at home, and then travel to Clemson. They also have home games against Florida State and Virginia Tech and a regular-season finale at rival Georgia. They may only be favored in five games this year.

I still really like this Tech team. Johnson's squads are always good for an upset or two. But they could be susceptible to one as well. They probably have the most challenging schedule in the ACC. And I don't see them matching last year's dream campaign. I'll call for Georgia Tech to go 'under'.
