Everything but.

The Bills have everything that a serious contender needs in the NFL. They have a Top 5 defense that is bursting with top-tier talent. They have high-class skill players, with Pro Bowlers at running back and receiver. They have powerful offensive and defensive lines. They have a veteran coaching staff that has taken part in big games. And they have rabid fan and organizational support for a franchise desperate for a winner.

They have everything. But they don't have a quarterback.

The Bills won nine games last year with game manager Kyle Orton at the controls. But right now they have three quarterbacks on the roster, and none of them are legitimate NFL starters. Noodle-armed Matt Cassel is the front-runner for the job. But he is pathetic and has been dumped by the Chiefs and Vikings in the past two years. Tyrod Taylor has some potential. But he's never been a regular starter and is a bit of an X-Factor. And E.J. Manuel is still a young, unproven, overrated bystander.

Regardless of who is quarterback, Rex Ryan's new squad is rock solid in all other facets. They also start the year with four of their first six games at home before a winnable trip to Tennessee. And at the moment it looks like they will host rival New England without Tom Brady in Week 2. If the Bills get some early wins they could have enough momentum to carry them through a brutal late-season stretch in which they play five of six games on the road.

The Bills are Everyone's Sleeper Team right now. Every prognosticator and pundit in the country is high on Buffalo this season. That's normally the kiss of death, and Everyone's Sleeper Team in the preseason rarely sees their projected success materialize in the regular season.

Regardless, I have the Bills at 9-7 again this year. So I would play this number 'over'.
