2015 Season Win Total Prediction: 'Over'
Last year the Falcons lost star quarterback Matt Johnson in the first game of the season. But they overcame that big hurdle and won eight games while going to the MAC title game.
This year Johnson is back. So is last year's leading passer, James Knapke, their top two running backs, and their top four receivers. They should improve on last year's 30 points per game average. I can see this being a Top 40 offense.
The Falcons defense was in rough shape last year. They have to move on this year without their four leading tacklers. This team gave up 40 or more points six times, including 51 in the MAC Title Game. That won't do.
Bowling Green has a very tough nonconference schedule. They play Tennessee in Nashville and also have road games at Maryland and at Purdue. They also play a Memphis team that is off a great 2014. BG does get to host Akron, Ohio and Toledo in three big league games.
I would bet Bowling Green to go 'over' this year. They have averaged nine wins the last three years. With so much offense back, I think they can score enough to get to .500 this year.
