2015 Season Win Total Prediction: 'Under'
Ball State won 10 games in 2013. But they backslid to just five wins last year. They have almost everyone back from last year's team, though, and I think that this group will play closer to what we saw in 2013.
It all comes down to offense for Ball State this year. They are relying on sophomore quarterback Jack Milas. He split time with Ozzie Mann last year when they were trying to replace the school's all-time leading passer in Keith Wenning. Milas really need to improve after he completed just 55 percent of his passes last year.
Ball State is nothing special on defense. They have seven starters back on that side of the ball. They held only two teams under 21 points last year and were ranked in the 80s nationally.
I would play Ball State to go 'under' this year. They have a tough opening month. They have to go to Texas A&M and to Northwestern. In between these games they have to play on the road against Eastern Michigan. EMU has played them very tough the last five years, and Eastern Michigan is 3-0 ATS in those games.
Ball State could get in an early hole. They would have to pull several upsets in order to win eight games. That is something they have done only three times in the last 12 years. I don't think this is going to be one of those years with all the talent that is back in this league. I would play Ball State 'under'.
