2015 Season Win Total Picks NCAA Football: 'Under'
For the first time in five years, Arkansas State will enter the season with the same head coach that they had prior.
Experience is a major factor for Arkansas State's offense in 2015, as first team All-Sun Belt quarterback Fredi Knighten leads nine returning starters and potentially seven senior starters back from a Top 20 national offense last year.
However, the lack of experience is also a major factor for ASU's defense this year as just six starters are back, and only three seniors are among the projected starting 11. They barely finished in the Top 90 last year as a group, and they will need to improve on this side if they want to compete for the conference title.
ASU's nonconference schedule is one of the toughest in the conference. They have two brutal nonconference games to open the season: at USC and hosting Missouri. They also have a road trip to The Glass Bowl to face Toledo in a game that should be a shootout.
League play isn't exactly easier. They have a three-game road swing in November before the season finale. But they do get Louisiana at home and avoid Georgia Southern. Overall, I can see a .500 season out of this team. But I don't see eight wins, which it would take to win this wager. I think the odds are more likely they go 'under'.
