Basic strategy teaser bets are closing out the NFL season on a strong note after starting on the wrong one. Last week, the two-team, six-point teasers went 3-0 to push its record to 10-1 over the last four Sundays. The wagers tend to be the most profitable way to tease NFL games and are designed to take advantage of the most common point differentials in any given NFL game-three and seven.

The idea behind a basic strategy teaser is to anchor certain spreads-favorites of 7.5 to 8.5 points and underdogs of 1.5 to 2.5 points-behind the two strongest NFL key numbers. This week we have another set of three solid teasers on the board. Let's take a closer look at these basic strategy teasers with predictions and analysis. All odds come from Sportsbook.ag.

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots

Spread: Patriots -7.5

Six-point teaser : Patriots -1.5

Miami is still in the thick of the playoff race, and three straight wins to finish off the season with a 10-6 record will probably be enough to earn a wild-card spot. The team is three games behind New England in the division race, so even a win here does not mean much in that regard. Expect Miami to approach this matchup like a playoff game, because essentially it is.

The Patriots have the No. 1 seed in the AFC on the line and simply need to win out in order to grab it. The squad has the tiebreaker over Denver, and a 13-3 record will be more than enough to earn the top spot. New England has a Week 1 loss to the Dolphins to avenge, and even if they do not cover the original spread of 7.5 points, they should be able to earn a win in this spot.

Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions

Spread : Lions -8

Six-point teaser : Lions -2

Detroit still has a shot at winning the NFC North, and the division crown might come down to the team's Week 18 matchup against Green Bay. The Lions will enter this Sunday's game with all the incentive in the world to go along with the feather in the cap of already having beaten Minnesota on the road way back in Week 6. Detroit also has consecutive 34-17 victories under it belt.

Minnesota has three straight ATS wins on its record with an impressive three-point loss to Green Bay during that span. Overall the team is 8-5 ATS and has been one of the most profitable teams in the NFL this season. Minnesota is 6-7 straight up and will miss the playoffs unless something drastic happens with the wild-card spots over the next three weeks. The Vikings could cover the original spread, but teasing it down six points makes this an excellent play to wager on.

Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts

Spread : Colts -8

Six-point teaser : Colts -2

Indianapolis currently holds a two-game lead over the Texans and has a tough road matchup against Dallas next week, which make Sunday division showdown against Houston a must-win. The team is currently riding a three-game win streak but failed to cover last week in Cleveland. Overall, the Colts are an excellent 5-2 ATS as a home favorite and have the top passing offense in the entire NFL.

Houston, on the other hand, currently sit on a 2-4 ATS record as an underdog and struggles to cover spreads when they are not the favorite. Houston is a middle-of-the pack team that is clearly better than a certain section of teams, which is why they have a whopping 6-1 ATS record as a favorite, but they are clearly not as good as the other section. Expect the Colts to cover the original spread and make this game the strongest teaser of the week.
