NFL Teasers Betting: Best Basic Strategy Options for Week 13
by George Monroy - 11/26/2014

Basic strategy teasers have produced a 5-0 record over the last two weeks and covered both bets during a Week 12 that featured New England and Denver as small home favorites. For those that are new to the wager, a basic strategy teaser is a two-team combination bet similar to a parlay that lets bettors move spreads around by six points. The teasers, however, only involve certain spreads, which include favorites of 7.5 to 8.5 points and underdogs of 1.5 to 2.5 points. The idea is to move those lines past the strongest NFL key numbers, or most common margins of victories, of three and seven and anchor the new spreads with those markers.
Cleveland Browns at Buffalo Bills
Six-point teaser : +8.5
Cleveland continues to be one of the best bets in the NFL this season with a 6-3-2 ATS record and an even more impressive 4-0 mark as an underdog. Quarterback Brian Hoyer has Cleveland ranked 11th overall in passing yards and has been nothing but productive over the team's last eight games, where it has produced a 6-2 record after starting the season off with a 1-2 mark.
Buffalo has had a successful season in its own right with a 6-5 record through 11 games after struggling during the early part of the year. The Bills have produced some of their best work as an underdog, where they currently hold a 3-2 mark, but they struggle to cover spreads as a favorite with a 2-4 record. Cleveland has to be the feel-good story of the year, and receiving over a touchdown's worth of points is a great spot to wager on.
Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs
Spread : Chiefs +1.5
Six-point teaser : Chiefs +7.5
If Kansas City has any plans of winning the AFC West then the team needs to win this matchup. Denver is a full game head of the Chiefs with five weeks left in the season, and this game will be pivotal for both teams. Kansas City has been a red-hot ATS team, having produced an 8-3 mark with five straight covers prior to last week debacle against Oakland. Outside of that performance, however, the team's defense has been smothering, and its offense has been surprisingly efficient even though it still has problems.
The Broncos, on the other hand, continue to win, but they do not look as dominant during the latter part of the season as they did during last year's Super Bowl run. The team struggled against St. Louis, struggled against Miami last week and has covered only one spread in its last three tries. Kansas is an elite team on defense and should have enough talent to keep this game close, if not win it outright.
Arizona Cardinals at Atlanta Falcons
Spread : Falcons +2.5
Six-point teaser : Falcons +8.5
Arizona put up a horrendous offensive performance against Seattle last week and will most likely be without Larry Fitzgerald once again this week. With that said, this teaser feels like a toss up. The Cardinals are excellent on defense and could completely shut down Atlanta's offense and blow the 8.5 points out of the water. The team, however, looked so bad on offense last week that the Falcons may be able to keep this game close and stay within the new spread. This matchup feels like it could go either way, and with two other solid teaser options for the week, skipping this game is probably the best bet.
