Betting with The Prop Machine and Free Monday Pick
by Doc's Sports - 8/18/2014
There are very few secrets when it comes to gaining an edge against the oddsmakers as there is a reason why sportsbooks make as much money as they do. That does not mean that you cannot create a profitable edge for yourself if you know where and how to look.
Sportsbooks will release individual player props on a daily basis for most of the major sports. Right now the biggest plays are on MLB games, but in a few short weeks, the bulk of the action will shift over to the NFL and college football regular seasons. Six years ago, the Prop Machine put a money-making system in place to capitalize on player props for the NFL and college football seasons as well as NBA and MLB games, and the results have been phenomenal.
The key to The Prop Machine's continued success is the ability to uncover players who are being overvalued or undervalued in the daily sportsbooks' betting odds. When it comes to releasing player props such as these, the oddsmakers rely heavily on past performances and statistical averages, while The Prop Machine relies heavily on current form and recent tendencies. This can be a very complicated process, but all you have to do is get on board with a selection package from The Prop Machine to benefit from all this hard work.
Last football season, The Prop Machine returned over $27,000 on its NFL and NCAAF player prop picks. Over the course of this past NBA season, The Prop Machine cleaned up once again with an $11,000 return. The hits just keep coming, and over the last six years The Prop Machine has never had a losing year in any sport it releases player prop picks for.
Last Week's Results
The Prop Machine had been hitting it out of the park the past few weeks with its MLB player prop selections, but even the best of the best hit a rough patch every once and awhile. The wins and losses bounced back and forth all week long, with a final record of 4-4 on eight picks. This resulted in a -$520 loss based on the units played and the closing moneyline odds.
Despite the short-term setback, The Prop Machine is still up over $1,700 for the MLB season. One of the biggest money-makers this MLB season has been the "under 2" play on a player's total hits, runs and RBI in any particular game. Through this past weekend's selections for this prop, The Prop Machine has gone 25-6 for a return of $6,900.
Recent Trends
The Prop Machine relies heavily on recent trends to provide some valuable insight into future results. It spends a great deal of time studying tendencies and analyzing results to come up with a more predictable pattern that can be effectively measured against a player's prop odds for a specific game.
This is especially the case as these recent trends pertain to MLB starting pitchers and the types of pitches they throw. These tendencies are then matched against the lineup they will face in their next start to uncover where the advantage lies. This type of deep analysis can be extremely time consuming, but the return on investment these picks have produced is obviously well worth the effort.
A good example for Monday night's game between Kansas City and Minnesota is that the Twins have the lowest ISO (.086) in at-bats that end in a changeup this year. The Royals Jason Vargas has thrown a changeup 30.1 percent of the time this year, which is third-most among all qualified starters.
The Prop Machine Free Pick
The Prop Machine did it again with last week's free MLB player prop pick. It went with Colorado's Justin Morneau in a head-to-head matchup against Cincinnati's Jay Bruce (-150 Bovada) in last Thursday's game on total hits, runs and RBI. Morneau had just one hit in four at-bats, but it was enough to cash in on the 4-Unit play.
Over the past 17 weeks, The Prop Machine's record with these free picks is an impressive 13-3-1 for a profitable return of $3,880 on a $100 wager using Doc's Unit Betting System.
This week, The Prop Machine has turned its attention to Monday night's MLB player props with a 4-Unit selection on the "over 4.5" in total strikeouts (-140 Bovada) for Jason Vargas in his start against Minnesota this Monday night.
