Betting with The Prop Machine and Free Monday Pick
by Doc's Sports - 3/3/2014
The oddsmakers’ primary job is to set the betting odds for the spread and total line of any particular matchup. However, in recent years as the sportsbooks continue expand their offerings to attract additional action from the betting public, prop bets on individual performances within the games continues to grow in popularity.
This, in turn, has created a tremendous opportunity to create an entirely new revenue stream if you know how and when to bet on these player props that primarily exist for NFL and NBA games. This is where The Prop Machine comes to the rescue. The oddsmakers deal primarily with season averages when they set their lines for player props. The Prop Machine has made its living capitalizing on the bad lines that get released on a weekly basis due to changes in current performance trends. After an extremely successful run through the NFL this past season, it continues to tear things up in the NBA.
Doc’s Sports has partnered with The Prop Machine to bring you weekly selections that will not only enhance your betting bankroll but actually be the driving force behind its growth when you utilize its picks in conjunction with our Unit Betting System.
Last Week’s Results
Betting on sports is called gambling for a reason. Sometimes a handicapper gets so hot, you would swear they have inside information on the results before the game is ever played. But with winning streaks come losing streaks and as long as the overall performance remains on the plus side of the ledger everyone still makes money.
That was clearly the case this past week with The Prop Machine’s picks. A rough patch in Monday and Tuesday’s selections resulted in a 3-4 record and a -$720 return on a 4-unit play in all seven picks. The Prop Machine turned things around with a big Wednesday by posting three straight wins after the wrong call on the “over 8.5” for Kevin Durant’s free throws made in Oklahoma City’s stunning loss to Cleveland. The net result for these four picks on a four-unit play was +$680.
The week took another downward turn over the next three days, but The Prop Machine rallied with a 4-2 record on Sunday that generated a profit of $700. Betting daily props is a lot like day trading in the stock market. There are going to be some wild winning and losing swings, but over the course of time, The Prop Machine’s selections have been proven winners in growing the overall portfolio. This NBA season alone, it is up $10,380 with an overall record of 168-117. Also keep in mind that oftentimes a down week has been followed a big return the following week, so this should be a great time to get on board.
Future Trends
The planning is well underway for the next round of NBA games, and the inside scoop from The Prop Machine is to continue riding Chicago Bulls’ shooting guard Jimmy Butler. The Bulls have been a great team to ride lately as well with a 9-1 mark against the spread in their last 10 games. Butler has been a big part of this success by exceeding his 12.8 point scoring average in eight of those contests.
Monday’s Free Pick
The Prop Machine missed the boat on last Monday’s free pick when it went with the “over 11.5” on Philadelphia’s Michael Carter-Williams’ combined assists and rebounds against Milwaukee. But everyone has missed the boat lately on any kind of wagers involving the 76ers. They have worked tirelessly at perfecting the art of tanking during a current 14-game straight up losing streak in which they have covered just three times.
This Monday, The Prop Machine is going with the “over 28” at -115 on Detroit’s Josh Smith’s total points, rebounds and assists as its free pick based on NBA betting odds from Sportsbook.ag. The Pistons have been listed as 4.5-point home favorites over New York, and the total has been set at 208. Smith is averaging 16.5 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists a game.
