The NBA has decided to revert back to the 2-2-1-1-1 NBA Finals format last used in 1985. The new format will replace the 2-3-2 schedule. Here at By the Numbers, we are staying with the same format, bringing you the numbers from the week that was and the week that will be in sports.
$118.7 million: Approximate amount of money ESPN paid to televise the “Monday Night Football” game between the 1-4 Minnesota Vikings and 0-5 New York Giants. The game was regarded as one of the worst of all time with sloppy play on all sides of the ball. The $118.7 million figure is derived from ESPN's $1.9 billion per year NFL contract, divided by the 17 “Monday Night Football” games.
$83.3 million: Amount of money NBC Sports pays to televise the entire English Premier League season.
$18 million: Approximate amount ESPN pays to televise the entire Major League Soccer season.
16: Overthrows by Minnesota Vikings quarterback Josh Freeman on Monday night, the most for any quarterback since the statistic started being tracked eight years ago.
0: Amount of home touchdowns scored by the Jacksonville Jaguars this season. Their next chance to try and score in Jacksonville comes on Nov. 17.
-2000: The moneyline odds for the 23-point favorite Oregon Ducks this Saturday at home against UCLA.
-2000: The moneyline odds that Lee Corso picks the Oregon Ducks this Saturday during ESPN “College GameDay”.
+1085: The odds on 5Dimes of a NBA Finals rematch this year between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs. The matchup has the second-best odds, second only to Miami vs. Oklahoma City (+585).
+250: JC Tran's odds to win the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event Table. The final table will begin play on Monday, Nov. 4. Tran is the chip leader with 38 million chips, ahead of Amir Lehavot, who has 29.7 million in chips and is listed at +425 to win.
5: The amount of draws in 14 Champions League matchups between AC Milan and Barcelona after their 1-1 draw on Tuesday. It is tied for the most draws between opponents in CL play along with Chelsea/Liverpool and Barcelona/Chelsea.
0: Amount of teams remaining among the 32 in the Champions League yet to concede a goal. The last two teams to allow a goal were Barcelona and Schalke, both of whom conceded on Tuesday.
20: Amount of seconds in which Porto FC midfielder Hector Herrera received two yellow cards in Tuesday's Champions League match against Zenit St. Petersburg. Herrera in turn was sent off after the second yellow card. The frequency of the yellow cards (20 seconds) and time into the game for being sent off (six minutes) are both Champions League records.
1/12: Odds of Crystal Palace being relegated from the English Premier League following the 2013-14 season. Crystal Palace was just promoted to the EPL this season.
52: Opening total for the Denver Broncos/Washington Redskins Week 8 game at multiple sportsbooks who posted the line on Oct. 16.
58: Total as of Thursday for the Broncos/Redskins Week 8 game.
7-0: Denver Broncos' record on the “over” this season.
1-6: Kansas City Chiefs record on the over this season.
.599: Winning percentage of both the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals. Each World Series participant finished the regular season 97-65.
17: Amount of active NFL kickers among the 21 most accurate in the history of the league. The only kickers in the top 21in career field goal accuracy no longer in the NFL are Mike Vanderjagt (No. 4), Nate Kaeding (No. 5), Matt Stover (No. 16) and Ryan Longwell (No. 17).
6: NFL games this week with a point spread of 9.5 or higher. The heavy favorites are San Francisco (-17) vs. Jacksonville in London, Kansas City (-9.5) vs. Cleveland, New Orleans (-12.5) vs. Buffalo, Denver (-13) vs. Washington, Green Bay (-9.5) at Minnesota and Seattle (-10.5) at St. Louis.

$3.2 billion: Total value of the New York Yankees, according to a recent study of MLB team valuations by Bloomberg. The Yankees rank first in Major League Baseball ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers ($2.1 billion).
$530 million: Total value of the Tampa Bay Rays, according to Bloomberg, ranking the Rays last among the 30 MLB teams.
0: Postseason games played by the New York Yankees this season.
5: Postseason games played by the Tampa Bay Rays this season.
Aug. 28: The last time this season the St. Louis Cardinals lost by seven or more runs before their 8-1 loss in Game One of the World Series at Boston.
