by Nicholas Tolomeo - 9/12/2013
Football season is in full swing. Thus far, just two weeks into the start of pro and college football, we’ve had the expected; the Jaguars are 0-1, and the unexpected; the Jets are 1-0. There was a record-setting fine levied in the NFL, and there are record-setting ticket resale prices as College Station prepares to host another “Game of the Century” this Saturday. Let’s look at some numbers for sports betting this week.
$38,000: Value of a game check for Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.

$87,500: Fine received by Chicago Bears linebacker Bryan Cox in 1996 for making an obscene gesture to a line judge and screaming obscenities during a game. It had been the highest fine in NFL history until Suh's fine this week.
