Preakness Stakes Payout and Results
by Doc's Sports - 5/15/2010
There will be no Triple Crown winner in 2010 as Lookin at Lucky won the Preakness Stakes on Saturday at Pimlico over Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver. For Preakness Stakes payout results, co-favorite Lookin at Lucky paid $6.80 for a $2 win bet.

It's all over but the guessing at this point. The second jewel of the Triple Crown is just a day away, and I've looked at this race from a million different angles. I think I know what I think about it by now. Here are five predictions about how the race is going to play out with my 2010 Preakness Stakes predictions:

2010 Preakness Stakes Picks
by Trevor Whenham - 5/14/2010
Bodog doesn't have as many prop bets listed for the Preakness Stakes as they did for the Kentucky Derby, but there are still several to look at. So, let's do just that and I will offer my Preakness Stakes picks for some of the props:

2010 Preakness Stakes Contenders
by Robert Ferringo - 5/14/2010
The Preakness Stakes is not only my favorite of the Triple Crown horse races but it's also a favorite's race in the Triple Crown series. The favorite has won this race in 70 of the 134 runnings at Pimlico, which is great news for Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver. Super Saver has been instilled as a slim favorite for this race for the Black Eyed Susans. The Preakness will be run at 6:15 p.m. EST on Saturday, May 15 at Pimlico Race Course in Maryland.

2010 Preakness Stakes Jockeys
by Trevor Whenham - 5/13/2010
Jockeys - very little men with very big responsibilities. The horses that run in the Triple Crown are so young, and the races so intense, that the jockeys have more of a role here then they do in most races. A great ride can turn a contender into a winner - just ask Calvin Borel. On the other hand, a bad ride can turn a legitimate horse into an irrelevant one. Here's a look at the 12 little men who will be riding in Saturday's Preakness:

2010 Preakness Stakes Betting Tips
by Trevor Whenham - 5/12/2010
The Preakness, the often under-appreciated second leg of the Triple Crown, takes place for the 135th time on Saturday at Pimlico in Baltimore. It doesn't have the tradition and appeal of the Kentucky Derby, and the Belmont frequently has a shot at the Triple Crown to add intrigue. However, this race is still a Classic, and it still is a more-than-worthy bet. To make sure that those bets are the best that they can possibly be, here are four Preakness Stakes betting tips to consider:

2010 Preakness Stakes Betting Trends
by Trevor Whenham - 5/12/2010
One of the best ways to get ready to handicap a Triple Crown race like the Preakness Stakes is to look back at what has happened in the past. History has a way of repeating itself in these races, so by looking at the Preakness Stakes trends that have emerged in the past we can have a good sense of which horses we need to pay more attention to, and which ones are just traps looking to suck our money out of our wallets. Here's a look at five Preakness trends:

Horses That Can Win the 2010 Preakness Stakes
by Trevor Whenham - 5/12/2010
There are 12 horses entered in the Preakness, so that obviously means that there are 12 horses with a chance to win the race. It's equally obvious that some of the horses have a better chance - a much better chance - of winning the race than others. As with most years it's reasonably easy to split this field into contenders and pretenders. In my eyes there are five horses that have a much better chance of winning the Preakness than the others.

Super Saver Chances for Triple Crown
by Trevor Whenham - 5/6/2010
There is absolutely nothing more I want in sports than a Triple Crown. Not a Michigan National Championship, a Calgary Flames dynasty, or a return to pitching for Nolan Ryan. I have a poster on the wall of my office of the 11 Triple Crown winners, and every year I hope against hope that it will be made irrelevant and I will have to replace it with an updated version. All of that means that I have spent a whole lot of time thinking about whether Super Saver is going to win the Triple Crown this year.

Early Look at the 2010 Preakness Field
by Trevor Whenham - 5/5/2010
The dust is settling on an underwhelming Kentucky Derby. Or at least it would be settling if the track wasn't a mud bog for the race. Instead of rehashing a glacially slow race that certainly isn't going to go down as a classic, it's time to look forward to what is on the horizon.
