Monday Night Football NFL Picks: Titans at Jaguars Betting Odds
by Nicholas Tolomeo - 10/18/2010
It’s not the most attractive of Monday Night Football matchups, but maybe it should be. The Tennessee Titans visit the Jacksonville Jaguars Monday night at 8:30 p.m. ET with a share of first place in the AFC South on the line.
The Titans and Jaguars are not exactly the most followed teams in the league, and the Jaguars have had issues selling out EverBank Field, which has caused their games to be blacked out around Jacksonville. Monday night’s game was 2,000 tickets short of a sellout, but the league decided to lift the blackout.
Jacksonville area residents will now be able to watch two of the most exciting running backs in the NFL, Chris Johnson and Maurice Jones-Drew. Passes will be limited in this contest and the runners will go a long way in deciding what team will join the Colts and Texans at 4-2 in first place in the AFC South.
Injury Report
The Jaguars are getting an influx of talent back for this game, including safety Sean Considine, running back Rashad Jennings, guard Justin Smiley and linebacker Justin Durant. All four missed the Jaguars game against Buffalo last week. Tennessee wide receiver Justin Gage has been ruled out with a hamstring injury. Chris Johnson has been limited in practice with a thigh injury but he will play Monday night.
Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Odds and Line Moves
Despite heavy action on the favored Titans, the line in this game has nearly been universally steady at Tennessee -3. The ‘over’ has also seen little movement. It opened at 44.5 rose to 45 at some sportsbooks but has settled back at 44.5. NFL odds are courtesy of Sportsbook.com.

Monday Night Football NFL Picks: Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars
Tennessee owns impressive road wins at Dallas and at the New York Giants, but since Vince Young took over midway through last season the win at New York remains the only impressive win on his resume. The Titans have feasted on inferior competition and the Jaguars do not fit the description of inferior. They blew out Tennessee by 20 points last season in Jacksonville. The Jaguars weak link is their pass defense, but they have shown they can shut down the run. They will let Vince Young try and beat them and that seems like a winning strategy. Home underdogs have dominated on Monday Night Football this season and that trend continues. Take the Jaguars plus the points.
