Indian Cowboy Thursday and Friday Predictions
by Indian Cowboy - 09/25/2008
If you looked at my Insider's Page, you realize that I'm a firm believer in research. Heck, the very formula that I espouse is at the top. It states, "research + finding dogs that can win outright = profits". With that said, what has helped me grow quickly in this industry is the fact that people love well-researched games. They look to me for such research that I publish each and every day to help add more information to what they already have and use my leans accordingly. Thus, despite the fact if you purchase my selections or you do not, this is the very research that has helped me win over the long haul and five out of the last seven days here at Doc's. I hope you find this useful in any way as it helps you make better selections this week and hopefully pad more winners.
Want a game researched in detail before you bet it next week? Just email service@docsports.com and tell them which college football game for this Saturday you would like researched. Note, I automatically research all the NFL action for Sunday and the football action during the week. Just let them know which Saturday football action you would like researched. I will make sure to give you as much in depth detail about the game as I can - it's free of course and it's the least I can do for my clients and those who read my page. For this week:
Saturday and Sunday's research out Friday at Noon EST, Thanks.
SMU vs. Tulane
What is nuts about this game is that it opened up at -14.5 and now has risen up to -18 in many books. More than two-thirds of the public favor the home team here in Tulane. Tulane actually beat this team by a touchdown in overtime last year on the road, so indeed, SMU does have revenge coming into this game. But, SMU also comes off back-to-back losses including scoring just 14 points total between Texas Tech and TCU. They did beat a Division II team in Texas State in their first game. Tulane has covered its first three games of the season, including playing Alabama very tough on the road and losing by only two touchdowns. They also covered very nicely at home against East Carolina, which was my POD for that week as they nearly won that game outright at home. They took out some frustration on UL Monroe, winning, 24-10, and easily covering the five-point spread. As per this game, my only lean here is on Tulane to get it done at home, but the line is simply too rich for my blood with everyone jumping on the home team here. No thanks.

WNBA Playoffs
San Antonio vs. Los Angeles
The line has finally been posted for this game as the Sparks are set as a home favorite of three points. Note that 66 percent of the public favors the Sparks here at home. The line originally opened up at 3.5 and actually went down to three points in favor of the Silver Stars, which shows a bit of reverse line movement. Thus far this season these teams have hooked up a total of four times. Each time the home team won straight up and ATS. Three out of the four times the games went under, which explains why this first total is set under 140. San Antonio won big over the Sparks the last time they played back on Sept. 5, where they won by a convincing 18 points. Note, Los Angeles returns home after a shocking win on the road at Seattle and I think the Monarchs really should have defeated the Silver Stars. As per this game, I really believe that at some point in these three games, the road team will win outright. Thus far in this series, the home team has gotten the win and the cover, but you will notice some short spreads here as Vegas realizes the road team is quite capable of winning outright. Hence, this is why you see such a short spread. Having said this, I personally have no lean or play in this game, but if you are ballsy, you could take the ML for the road team each game in this series.
Detroit vs. New York (Friday)
The lines for the WNBA playoffs, as in any playoff game are extremely "tight" and tough to find value. The public is backing both teams evenly. The Liberty are favored in this game as the team that is the underdog gets to play at home first. How cool is that, right? I think it makes the series so much more interesting if the dog could possibly win the first game as the remaining games happen at the court of the team that is favored. It makes the series that much more exciting especially if the underdog wins the first game. Having said all that, I think New York should do well today. Why not? This team has certainly proved its worth and had to win outright on the road at Connecticut to get where they are here. They came on strong in the second half of the season and have that chip on their shoulder that makes them play that much better. Detroit has covered the last two games between these two teams including a two-point road win the last time they met on Sept. 14. Detroit beat this team by 14 in late August before that. New York covered all three games against Connecticut. I do expect the Liberty to cover some more road games here. As per this game, I think the Liberty have a great shot at covering, winning outright, and remember, I can easily see the Liberty winning this series overall. However, how does one bet against Bill Laimbeer and his ability to fire up his ladies year in and year out? I wouldn't be surprised to see the Liberty win this one at home. After all, Detroit comes off a cupcake win against Indiana and might have shot their wad in that game.
