Inside Las Vegas
by Vegas Sports Informer - 04/12/2007
Here we go with my new idea to tell the rest of the world what is going on in the Las Vegas sports books. I gamble and live here in Sin City so I have the inside scoop of what the Vegas books are doing and thinking. I have many inside contacts so I'm ready to tell the betting public what I know.
Here is another of many articles called, Inside Las Vegas.
The NBA playoffs are a week away and the puck just dropped for the NHL Playoffs. This weekend should be the first of many slow weekends here in the Las Vegas books. Saturdays are now controlled by Fox because Fox Sports has all rights to show MLB Baseball. So if you are coming to Vegas this summer and you want to watch your favorite baseball team play on Saturdays you better make sure they are playing on Fox because all sports books will tell you that if it's not on Fox we can't get a picture. Corporate America: You gotta love it!
Also the buzz around Sin City is that the Kentucky Derby is right around the corner and horse players that usually come to Vegas to bet the Derby are having a hard time getting hotel rooms. Why, you ask? The Kentucky Derby is on the same day as the Oscar De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather fight at the MGM Grand Casino. The weekend of May 5 is going to be a very busy weekend because of this mega fight. Almost all casinos on The Strip are going to have a private showing of this battle. I feel sorry for the old horseplayers trying to bet the Kentucky Derby. These guys are the bread-and-butter of the sports books yet they get no love!
Every week I will have a new post. So keep an eye out.
