OK, so you were out trolling the Internet one day, harmlessly scouring Cyber Space for bikini girls, and you stumbled upon Doc's Sports. Besides scantily-clad females you are really into college basketball and have been betting on it - with varied degrees of losing - for a few years and you decided that you were intrigued by our sports handicappers and their proven track record of success. After a few visits and some due consideration, you decided that you wanted to jump on the Victory Train and team up with us on the path to Fame, Riches, and Glory. The only problem is you aren't quite sure how to use a handicapper.
A lot of people may know what sports handicappers are and what they do, but some people may be tentative to enlist their services mainly because they don't know how to use a sports handicapping service. It's cool. Believe me, there was a time when I had no idea how to use a handicapper and now that's how I make my living. Go figure. But here at Doc's Sports we have a very user-friendly system that is simple, effective, and easy to use. Part of our credo is to not only provide you with the best possible handicapping service but to do so with the least amount of hassle.
Basically, it goes like this:
First, you find a handicapper you like. After you register on the site and purchase a package of his selections you will have access to his plays every day while your subscription is active. Next, you take his rated selections to your sportsbook and play all of the games that your handicapper has selected. You then collect your winnings and come back for more. If we lose then we extend your service for you until you win. And that's how to use a professional handicapper. Sounds simple enough, right?
Below I've sketched out an outline that explains the specifics of how to use our handicapping service. It's pretty straightforward and covers the basics as far as how to get started with us. Remember, you can always call our main office toll free at 1-866-238-6696 with questions, concerns, to make purchases, or to get your selections. Further, our customer service e-mail is service@docsports.com and we will address any issues you have promptly.
In the meantime, here's the lowdown of how to use Doc's Sports handicapping services:
1. Find a handicapper that you feel comfortable with.
All five of the handicappers offered at Doc's Sports are among the sharpest sports gambling minds in the country. But other than their shared skill for picking winners they all have their own individual styles and they each offer a unique investing experience. Everything from the variety of plays each capper utilizes to the amount of plays they release is all at the whim of the individual handicapper.
There are two ways to pick a handicapper. First, you can jump on with whichever capper has been the hottest lately and go from there. Or second, you can try to familiarize yourself with each of the five handicappers and pick from there. Obviously I endorse Option 2, but it's all about whatever you are feeling!
Each of our handicappers has their own Insider's Page on the site where they post daily updates, free picks, and general betting information. Also, all five of the handicappers have articles available on our home page or in our archives. Wander around the site. Read their notes, read their articles, and try to familiarize yourself with their approach to sports and betting. When you've decided who is your man it's actually very easy to purchase a package and get ready for some gambling!
2. Sign up.
The first step to purchasing your selections involves registering on our site. Simply click on the link on the left-hand side of our Doc's Sports homepage that says, "Become a Member" and follow the directions. You will register a unique user name and password, which can be used to login and access your selections on our member's page (//www.docsports.com/members/).
Every day that you have service you can login to gain access to your handicapper's selections. The release times for each sport is listed on this page, and once you log in it is clear how you access your selections.
3. Purchase a package.
There are a variety of links set up on Doc's Sports Web site that allow you to purchase selections from our handicappers and we offer an assortment of packages that each has its own benefits.
For example, in college basketball you can purchase a daily, weekly, monthly, or full season subscription to the selections of the handicapper of your choice. The daily and weekly packages offer more flexibility and the ability to "jump around" each week to whichever handicapper has the hot hand, has a big play, or has action in areas that you are looking for. However, with the monthly and yearly packages you are getting much more bang for your buck. The extended term subscriptions offer you exceptional value and lock up your long-term investment.
The weekly and monthly subscriptions are our most popular. Let's assume that you have purchased a monthly package for the Vegas Sports Informer's NBA selections on Dec. 8. What that means is that from Dec. 8 to Jan. 8 you will have full access to all of VSI's picks every day after their 2 p.m. Central Time release. After that you can either purchase another package for another handicapper, another sport, or you continue along with what you have by purchasing another monthly package.
4. Our grading system.
Doc's Sports uses a simple, effective, and clear grading system that is consistent for all of our handicappers, on all of their selections, and in all of our sports. I can assure you that you won't see any 100,000 Star Locks or any of that other cheesy nonsense you'll find at some tout services.
We grade all of our plays on a 1-8 Unit system. What is a "unit" you ask? A "unit" is kind of an industry standard for measuring success and it can generically be looked at as gross profits. In reality, Units represent different amounts to different people depending on the size of your bankroll. For some of our clients a Unit means $1,000 while for others it means $10. We cater to all gamblers and everyone has access to the same plays and the same ratings - no matter how much you play for.
Here is a breakdown of our grading system:
1-2 Units - small play
3-4 Units - average play
5-6 Units - top play or Game of the Week
7-8 Units - Game of the Month or Game of the Year
A majority of our selections are rated between 2-4 Units, with a premium put on plays of 5 Units or more. If, for example, a 4-Unit Selection is a winner then it is graded as +400. If it is a loser then it is graded at -440. These numbers are tallied on a spreadsheet and used to determine winning or losing weeks and months.
5. Place your bets.
We are not a sportsbook. We do not take bets, we do not place bets, and apart from some advertising deals that we have with select, reputable online sportsbooks we are not affiliated with any casinos or sports books. We are simply the guy who helps you take money from casinos, bookies, and online books. We are the enemy of sportsbooks and they are the enemy of Fun.
Once you have accessed your capper's picks it's your responsibility for doing something with them. You place the bets through whatever channel you prefer and you collect your winnings. Some other services do a "pay if you win" or a "pay part of your profit" system. We do not. You simply buy our picks and then after that it is up to you.
Our handicappers keep strict, accurate records on their plays according to our grading system - +100 for every Unit won and -110 for every Unit lost - and that is used to determine if you experienced a winning or losing subscription period with your handicapper.
6. Winning and losing.
It's called gambling for a very good reason - because no one can guarantee what happens. Of course, that's the fun of it. It's a dance with Fate and Lady Luck and that's why we enjoy it. Well, that and the fact that we win a hell of a lot more than we lose.
Losing days, weeks, and months happen. No handicapper wins all the time - and if they claim to they are lying! As we mentioned before, let's say you have a monthly package of VSI's NBA picks. If he shows a profit according to our grading scale then your subscription will expire after one month and it will be up to you to decide if you want to continue service. Everybody wins and that's what we like here at Doc's.
However, losing months or weeks do happen. And if that is the case then at the end of that week or month we extend your service - with no extra charge - until our handicapper does produce a profitable period. Our first goal is to make you money. And while we can't always guarantee that will happen we can guarantee that we will do absolutely everything in our power to make sure that is what occurs.
So that's it. In a nutshell, that is the deal with Doc's Sports Services and that is how you use our professional handicapping service. Our goal is to give you the most profitable and enjoyable experience possible with our service and over four decades we have gone to great lengths to maintain the highest levels of ethics and integrity. Some other handicapping services screw around with clients and give the industry a bad name. But that is not how we operate. We are honest, forthright and trustworthy.
