Even though it never really left, Bodog is back!

On June 11 Bodog returned to its traditional www.bodog.com web address. The Morris Mohawk Gaming Group, which is the exlusive licensee of the Bodog brand, reached a settlement agreement with 1st Technology LLC which resolved patent issues concerning the domain name and returned the Bodog brand to its rightful home.

Since late in the fall of 2007 Bodog has been operating at www.bodoglife.com.

According to a release from the company, Bodog.com will "house the brand's U.S. facing business." But no matter where the player is located "going to Bodog.com will automatically redirect that player to the appropriate licensee for their jurisdiction."

While this issue may seem like a footnote to people outside the industry, the name resurrection is actually the end of what has been a contentious, protracted legal battle that has gone on for nearly three years and involved tens of millions of dollars. But in the end, the fact that one of the most recognizable names in the field has returned to its roots has to be seen as a positive step for one of the true titans of the sports gaming and entertainment industry.

Bodog has been in the sports gaming and entertainment industry for over a decade. According to company releases they have signed up nearly 3 million customers in that time.
